Dr. Yvonne Thomas, DVM
Dr. Thomas, an Annapolis native, received her BS in Biology in 1993 from Virginia Tech and stayed in Blacksburg to earn her DVM from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Dr. Thomas is distinguished as one of 3 students in her class who earned dual credit for undergraduate and veterinary courses. After two years of general practice in VA, she and her husband moved back to Maryland where she has practiced small animal medicine in Anne Arundel County for over 25 years! Dr. Thomas has a special interest in feline medicine and is passionate about care for both patients and their humans. In 2023, Dr. Thomas joined the Imaging Team at CVNI, anesthetizing patients for MRI and CT scans. In this position, Dr. Thomas enjoys collaborating with the excellent neurology team, tailoring anesthesia protocols for each patient based on their unique medical needs. She uses her extensive experience to ensure that her patients receive the best comfort and care during their stay. This has been a refreshing and challenging phase of her veterinary career.
Dr. Thomas is a long-time member of AVMA and MDVMA. She also has memberships with American Association of Feline Practitioners and North American Veterinary Anesthesia Society.
Dr. Thomas loves sewing and all things creative. She lives in Annapolis with her husband, three children, 1 cat and 2 bunnies.
